Each school year, we provide the opportunity for each school in Stoddard County to allow us to come and give a 911 presentation to the students in the kindergarten and first grade classes. We have toy trunks that we take to the school a week in advance, if the school so chooses, for the children to play with along with books to read about emergency safety. We educate them on personal safety, how important it is to know your address and phone number, and how to react in emergency situations. We also teach them when to dial 911 and ask for a responder from the law enforcement, a fire station, or an ambulance office.
